CONFERENCE PUBLICATIONS:
Handbook of Abstracts. Authors will submit abstracts (one page limit) of their talks, which will be collected, printed, bounded and distributed at the conference.
The deadline for submission of contributed abstracts: 1 February 2003.
Special Journal Issue. Each speaker will be invited to submit a paper to a special issue of the IMACS journal Applied Numerical Mathematics, guest editors Andrew Knyazev and Jan Mandel, devoted to the meeting. These papers will be subjected to the same rigorous refereeing process as regular submissions to this journal.
The deadline for submission to the special issue is May 15, 2003.
Instructions for preparation of papers. Proceedings of the symposium will be published as a special issue of Applied Numerical Mathematics journal. The special issue is open to papers consistent with the topic of the symposium even when they were not presented at the conference.

The papers will be subject to the usual peer review process and the same standard as in regular issues of the journal. Preliminary versions, extended abstracts, or versions of work published, submitted, or to be submitted elsewhere will not be accepted. In order not to delay the proceedings, only papers accepted without a major revision can be included in the special issue. Papers that require a major revision can be considered for a later issue of the journal.

Please follow the journal guide for authors at http://authors.elsevier.com/JournalDetail.html?PubID=505602 . All three kinds of publications (Full papers, Tutorial review papers, Short notes) are acceptable. There is no formal page limit, but papers over 20 pages will be considered only in well justified cases.

Papers should be prepared in LaTeX according to the instructions at http://www.elsevier.nl/locate/latex , see a LATEX example provided by Jan Mandel.

For review purposes, please prepare a PDF or PostScript file and email it as an attachment to imacs03_program@math.cudenver.edu The email body should include a request to consider the paper for publication in the special issue of the Applied Numerical Mathematics and it should list the authors, the title, and the total number of pages of the paper. The email should come from the corresponding author of the submitted paper.

Deadline for submission of papers for the special issue is May 15, 2003. To keep the proceedings on schedule, we will not be able to consider late submissions.
