Center for Computational Mathematics (CCM)

Creating a CCM report is now very simple:

• Upload your paper on arXiv.org.
• Send the arXiv link to Jan.Mandel@ucdenver.edu, who will give you a CCM report number.
• Add the report number to the paper on arXiv.
• Once you have a permanent arXiv link, send it to Jan also.

Advantages of arXiv

• Uniform quality of the pdf files.
• High visibility and great position in search engines.
• Timestamps that cannot be undone.
• You can update the report any time yourself (but old versions always remain accessible).

How to upload a report on arXiv

In case you still need more help, here are some suggestions:

• It is strongly recommended to use pdflatex and pictures in pdf or another format that pdflatex works with (not .eps). You need to use the file name extension when including the graphics files.
• Put all source files (latex, non-standard styles, pictures, .bbl file,...) in a single .tgz or .zip file and upload that file.
• Note that if the submission is accepted by the website it cannot be undone, so do not submit something just to try it.
• Repeated submissions until some cutoff time in the afternoon (check arXiv for the exact times) replaces the submission instead of leaving it arXived forever and creating a new version, so it is good to start working on the submission well ahead of the cutoff - or just after.
• Check the intended publisher's copyright transfer agreement regarding posting on public web sites. You may want to post on arXiv first and only then sign the copyright transfer agreement.
• In case you run into an endorsement requirement (it should not happen if you register using your University email address), Jan can currently endorse for math, stat, physics.ao-ph, and physics.comp-ph, Andrew can endorse for math, and Julien can endorse for cs, math and stat.
• If your paper is rejected by arXiv because the files are too large, try compressing or reducing resolution of included images.
