Project 1 is to learn how to compile and run PETSc examples from Vectors: Examples Tutorial using departmental high-performance parallel Beowulf Cluster, supported by the NSF Award DMS MRI 0079719.

On beowulf, copy /opt/petsc-2.1.1/src/vec/examples/tutorials into your personal directory. Compile and run the following examples:

Students should understand and be able to explain what these examples do. Every student will be responsible for one example. The reports will be in the form of 20 min class presentations.
