MATH 3200-002: ELEMENTARY DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS

PREREQUISITES: MATH 2411 (Analytical Geometry and Calculus II) and MATH 3191 (Applied Linear Algebra) The course requires a strong knowledge of calculus, a basic knowledge of linear algebra, and a familiarity with complex numbers. Brief reviews will be presented as necessary.

CONTENTS:

HOMEWORKS: will be given on Mondays and due always in a week. Late homeworks accepted only by prior arrangement and in any case not after the solution is distributed.

GRADING: Test 1, 2, 3: 15% each, Final 30%, Homeworks 25%. Each problem graded on the scale 4 points =100% perfect, 3 = something little wrong, 2 = something substantial missing or wrong, 1 = still some progress. Every homework problem carries the same weight toward the homework share of the grade. Missed test (with a good justification) can be made up by making the following test count twice. Preliminary grade will be distributed before the Final. Letter grades: A >= 85%, B >= 60%, C >= 45%, D >= 20%.
