The GRAs will be students in the PhD Program in Applied Mathematics. Full support (stipend $15,600 - 18,000/year, tuition, fees, books, computer, and health insurance) is available. Extended visits to other institutions may be required and teaching duties may be assigned as well. Applicants should have Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics or a relevant Science and Engineering discipline, excellent analytical abilities, and programming experience. Applicants should satisfy the admission requirements for the PhD Program in Applied Mathematics . In particular, the prospective students must have Advanced Calculus or equivalent with a good grade and international students must have TOEFL.
We are looking for indications that the GRA will be a productive team member in the project and likely to make quick progress towards PhD. Candidates with the necessary preparation in basic analysis and applied linear algebra to pass the PhD preliminary examinations are preferred.
